In this course, you will learn about the typical situations and process for helping clients prepare their legal documents and plan for their wishes and needs. We will review the most common mechanisms for protecting not only assets but also the way to ensure clients have some control over their healthcare, regardless of decision-making capacity. This course will also review the laws and regulations surrounding protected health information and how it relates to the life care manager. The lesson brings in an expert to help provide rich content in this area. Lastly, we will review the court-appointed roles for helping vulnerable adults who lack the executive function to make a decision in their best interest.
